John is a native Roman who has excelled in sports since childhood.  He continued this interest while a student at Rome Free Academy.  He also played collegiate football while a student at Syracuse University, which eventually led him to the NFL, playing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills.

In 2004, John was honored by being inducted into the Rome Sports Hall of Fame.

In 1997, John joined our team at Shoppers Service, starting out in sales.  He worked his way up to becoming a greater part of this long-standing business.  Seeing a need from diabetic customers for footwear, Shoppers Service added a new division to their company and in 2005, the Therapeutic Shoe Program was introduced.

In September 2010, John became a Certified Pedorthist, receiving his education and training through the Oklahoma State University School of Pedorthic Medicine & Pro-Learn Laboratories.  He is ABC Certified (American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc.). There are less than 2,000 Certified Pedorthics in the US.

Working in the Shoppers Service Therapeutic Shoe Program, John assists those with foot problems (both diabetic and non-diabetic patients.)  This program offers therapeutic shoes to those in need of proper footwear and orthotics.

As a former athlete, John understands the complications associated with foot and knee (and even back) pain and how important proper footwear and orthotics are. John provides one-on-one customer service to assess the patient’s foot condition.

He utilizes a state of the art CAD laser scanning system, which helps create a precise custom orthotic to best meet the patient’s needs.

From football to footwear, John understands that foot health equals good health.
